The Voice Behind Apple's Iconic AI Assistant: An Exclusive Interview with Trudy Muller

In a rare and fascinating interview with CNN, we had the privilege of sitting down with Trudi Muller, the talented voice actor behind one of technology's most iconic personalities - Siri. As the world celebrates ten years since Apples groundbreaking virtual assistant first hit our airwaves, Bennett took us back on her remarkable journey to becoming the sound that many have grown accustomed to.

'I'm not sure I ever thought about it being a big deal at the time,' she told CNN candidly. 'I mean, I was just reading lines out loud for an ad campaign - never could've imagined how much people would latch onto this little AI.'

Since her debut in 2011, Siri has become more than just Apple's voice assistant; she is a cultural icon in her own right. But what makes Trudi Muller so perfect for the role?

'I think it all comes down to tone and personality,' says Bennett matter-of-factly when asked about her secret ingredient. 'You want someone who sounds friendly but also slightly cheeky, you know? Like your best mate giving you instructions - not some robotic automaton telling you what to do.'

And give Siri fans their money's worth she certainly does! From making phone calls ('Hey Siri, call mom') and opening apps on demand ('Siri, open Twitter'), Trudy proves that her voice can get anything done.

But how did this talented thespian land such an enviable gig in the first place?

'I actually auditioned for a bunch of different roles when Apple was casting,' reveals Muller with a chuckle. 'I remember doing like five or six rounds before finally getting called back to record some lines - and that's it really!'

Fast forward ten years later, Trudi is still voicing Siri alongside her other projects (including working on the critically acclaimed TV series Fleabag).

'It's been an absolute dream come true,' she gushes effusently when asked about looking back. 'I mean sure there are days where I wake up thinking 'god why am I saying that again?!' But at the end of it all, knowing you've helped so many people navigate their world - whether they're blind or just plain lazy like me haha! - makes every moment worth while.'

So what's next for Siri and her sassy sidekick? Only time will tell. Until then though, keep saying 'Hey Siri' because Trudi Muller won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
